I, Lucy, have always enjoyed baking; I find it very satisfying baking yummy cakes and decorating them with fruit. I also love drinking Tea, and the selection available is so wide, it is nice to try new ones. That is why I have decided to keep a pot of tea very affordable, and as a Tea Rooms, there is no excuse to not have a large selection, so we have over 40 flavours of tea to choose from. My other hobby, has been china, when I started to drink pots of tea a day a few years ago, I wanted to have something pretty to drink from. Now I have a very large collection and I enjoy using them. The Tea Rooms idea came about because of all those things; baking, tea and china. It seemed quite obvious, as I could not eat all the cakes I was baking, that would have been disastrous for my clothes. My mum offered me her garden which is full of pretty flowers, fruit trees and birds, and Lucy’s Vicarage Tea Rooms opened. The Old Coach House now hosts the Shop & Kitchen and the Victorian Washroom is now an oak panelled tea parlour, decorated with bunting and twinkle lights, perfect for private parties and warmth on dull, wet days. My Mum is a wonderful Gardner and has created the perfect secret garden; the most relaxing of spaces with our resident vocalist; a back bird that often purches on the Tea Parlour Roof to sing and our large family of house martins that nest under the eaves of the house. There are around 20 pairs that come back every spring from there winter holiday. You can hear the house Martians talk all day long to each other about the nice guests that visit their garden during the long weekend.

They are left at your risk, but we do have CCTV cameras and they can always be left close to you where you can see them clearly.

Dog Walkers

All friendly dogs and their walkers are welcommed, we even have a dog water bowl with fresh water so the dogs can relax as well as their owners. We do ask that dogs be kept on a lead.

I can arrange a Mad Hatters Party, Chocoholics Dream Party, Vintage Afternoon Tea Party and Themes tailored to suit you and your guests. Would you like a French themed Anniversary Party, inspired by your Honeymoon perhaps?

Would you like a
Vintage Tea Party designed for you ?

After collecting the most prettiest of China; some elegant, some fun and some with the most delicate of designs, an idea was born. We had nowhere to display them all or use them all in the Tea Rooms, so hiring them out with our delicious cakes, scones and sandwiches for Afternoon Tea is the perfect solution. They will continue to be used and loved.

I have many sets of 6 and a few sets of 12, and some are so pretty even though they are not in a set, it would be a crime for them to be hidden, our mismatch sets can be designed around colours or flowers or completely random odd ones. Any choice will be a great talking point.

If you would like to see our portfolio of china to hire and possible menus, please contact me via the websites contact form and I will be more than happy to go through the different options over the phone or in person.

We can decorate the table with vintage table cloths, napkins, china, and strings of pearls for our Roses and Pearls menu. And if there is anything in particular you would like, such as a decorative bird cage or candelabra, we can see what we can do.
