Lucy’s Vicarage Tea Rooms makes all the cakes sold here. We use free range eggs or local fresh eggs from well loved chickens who are free to roam grassy fields. The quality of eggs makes a big difference to the cakes, especially flour free cakes. The Belgium Chocolate used in the gooey chocolate cake has over 70% cocoa solids. This chocolate cake has been discussed on Trip Advisor and has been the reason for many people’s return. Due to its popularity The Gooey Chocolate Cake will be available every day.All cakes are homemade from real ingredients, no short cuts. We hand squeeze all our own fruit for juices used in the cakes, for example the Lemon Drizzle Cake. Use good quality eggs, homemade toppings and fillings i.e. homemade custard. Cheese cakes can be flour free and Lucy has a recipe for a flour free sponge that is very light and fluffy. Everything this cake required, from baking to delivery was done by Lucy. It is a Rich Three-Tiered Fruit Cake, Matured for 3 months with a fortnightly dose of Cognac. Cascading Red Flowers. Hand made and individually painted to give life, varying shades of Red and a deep Red colour. On the Left it is just finished in Lucy’s Workshop, on the Right, safely delivered to the Venue.
Gooey Chocolate Cake – made with Belgium Dark Chocolate. My best friend compares it to eating a chocolate truffle in stead of a cake. It is perfect for a wedding cake as it is as stable as a traditional fruit cake. Designed for stacking.

Chocolate Parcel Cake – I invented this cake for Mother’s Day. It is a flourless chocolate cake so incredibly light, with several layers; chocolate sponge, whole raspberries and strawberries, homemade custard, a soft creamy layer. The cake is all wrapped together with chocolate around the sides. For decoration, fruit is always tasty and looks good, but I used sugared rose petals as it was Mother’s Day.
